@boxo: Sounds like you’ve got some solid recommendations. I stay away from Arthur Bryant’s and Gates as I’ve never found the food to be very good and the service is somewhat poor. I’d definitely check out Q39, Jack Stack, Oklahoma Joe’s (yes, I know it’s called KC Joe’s.....), LC’s (near the K) and Char Bar. I would also highly recommend Slap’s BBQ which is just east of “Downtown” KCK. It’s maybe a 10~ minute drive from Downtown KCMO, but well worth it. @jackal or @CMK10 both seemed to enjoy it considerably on their visits.
