I’m at the Athenee right now. Used an SNA and got a lovely upgrade to a Royal Club Suite — although it appears to be nearly identical to the suite I got upgraded to last time I was here without an SNA, except last time the decor was red instead of blue in the suite I’m in right now.
Its surprisingly quiet here this weekend compared to what I recall last time. Buffet today was only around 30% capacity. I’m irked that this property charges an additional fee if you would like some sparkling water at breakfast. This seems to be common in the Marriott/Starwood world globally where they simply don’t offer any carbonated beverages at breakfast, but I’ll still whinge about it. I don’t understand the logic and I love sparkling water so it’s a bit of a bummer. Overall the breakfast buffet still feels to me like it’s the best in Bangkok.
