The highest room type we ever had at SGS is the luxury suite and we never tried the specialty suites. If some rooms have been redone at SGS then they are possibly on par or better than Athenee, unfortunately I cannot compare.
The Governor's and Presidential Suite are super modern. The 10th floor suites (Rajah, Rama, Rachada) are Thai style (lots of hardwood) with the older tile bathrooms and large outdoor patios.
I've stayed in Governor's and Rajah; these are
much nicer than the Grande and Luxury Suites.
But Caroline Astor Suite at StR is one of the nicest rooms I've had anywhere. Really spectacular.
