Precisely - the state of the Pier F dining nowadays is that, I actually prefer to eat onboard even for midnight departures, and we all know CX F catering is not outstanding at all per se.
I just came back from JFK and I can't believe how the AA dining facility and The Pier HKG are both Sodexo operated. I know it's not an apples to apples comparison with AA FFD being a 'real F' lounge facility, but it just tells me that regardless of the operator, if the budget is there then great things can be achieved. Sadly not here at HKG for the time being.
The difference is that AA went to Sodexo and ask for a nice product and they are paying the price for it, CX went to Sodexo to cut cost, Sodexo is probably doing an OK job according to the budget they have? Would be interesting to find ou how much they get pay per pax, probably not much...
