Looking at some very flexible dates in the later part of the year for a potential trip to Sydney. An agent actually found a day with a reward seat available for the SYD-LAX return, but nothing for the outbound. Have read through a number of pages on this thread and have seen some individuals have had success of these clearing after booking but prior to check-in. I figured one of two legs available at time of booking on this route is pretty good, but I also don't think I'm looking to do 15 hours in economy.
I recognize using GUCs is a game of roulette, but wanted to hear what others might advise.
