Someone pointed to me the fact that this was married-segment "logic" and that my potential explanation was not correct-- as the example I gave clearly shows.
It's intentional but you make a good point that DFW-LHR fares are pretty good so I think that:
a) they may not be truly working the flight that carefully this far out-- I think that's a safe bet.
b) I think we have seen numerous examples lately of AA RM being overzealous (for lack of a better word) lately, and I think-- assuming we don't see this change in the next few months for winter holiday flights, will be another example of same.
