People claim that only one fee will apply in case of changes after a no-show. This depends on airline's policies (in my view), but I do not know what QR policy is here. Looking into automated reissue part of generic fare rules I would say only a no-show fee will apply.
QR does not restrict the fares one can change to (unlike many other airlines) so you can just end up paying USD 1K for changing this ticket to something useful (rerouting is permitted). This change must be done within ticket validity (which is normally one year from the purchase date in this case regardless of the max stay restriction).
