Look at your history. I am in the exact same situation, but Hyatt did *NOT* retroactively charge me more.
Example:
Andaz Mayakoba for four nights. Was Cat 5 (20K/nt), now Cat 6 (25K/nt)
- In "My Past Activity" it shows 80,000 points redeemed at Cat 5 (20K/nt). This is correct
- In "My Reservations" it shows 100K points (Cat 6, 25K/nt). This
is the current price.
If you cancel, you will get your 80K points back. If you book anything now, it is correctly 100K points.
So in this case it is slightly confusing, but all things considered it's not problematic.
