I'm surprised even UA doesn't still fly this route (CLE-LAS). Okay, not all that surprised. LAS is a very large business destination with its perpetually active convention industry. I had a flight there recently, connecting through ORD, and it seemed like half the plane was Boarding Group 1 out of ORD. These are typically people who won't fly Spirit, etc. unless the fare is minuscule by comparison.
Airlines don't appear willing to test what the public will pay in many cases. For example, I think UA is leaving money on the table in the CLE-LAX route just because they think they're competing with Spirit.
