I disagree with this. Even when I lived in Chelsea, I chose LGA over EWR every time. The E or F to the Q70 bus is great. The train to Newark Airport Station is fine, but if the EWR AirTrain were any slower it would be going backwards.

That said, the difference is not so substantial to make that the basis of your decision.
