I used it to apply 2/23, was able to change the first name to mine. They called me today and approved me after verifying I applied. CSR rep brought up the 50/2500 welcome offer from the email on her own.

This only means that the offer you applied under is for 50,000 miles after spending $2500 in 3 months, it does not mean that you will get that amount. The CSR when approving a card only sees the offer, not whether or not you will qualify.
I am NOT saying you won't get the bonus, just that the CSR's statement is largely meaningless in making that determination.
