Never stayed at Andaz Shanghai, but despite the stinginess in the front (or is it back?) office at Andaz Singapore, we prefer it to Andaz Tokyo for numerous reasons, which are better suited to those respective threads. I suspect anyone downmouthing Andaz Singapore (other than the aforementioned stinginess) has spent little time there.
Every time I have stayed (5 times now, I think) I have experienced service annoyances or issues. But the hard product is one of the better ones in Singapore so the value for money for me is still there.
Still, Andaz Tokyo better in my view. Another property with inconsistent service, but the quality of the rooms and facilities were a step above Singapore.
