I am surprised that CX would hold the booking for 2 days at 70% miles. Didn’t expect them to be such helpful.
Anyway the requirement of FIRST purchasing a revenue ticket, THEN try redeeming the companion award is just too tricky. The risk of not being able to redeem is just too high which IMHO does not justify the purchase of the revenue ticket in the first place.
