To be read: different country but with privileges for fellow citizens (i.e. Kiwis don't have the hassles fellow commonwealth citizens have whilst transiting in Australia). Similar to how I refer to flights between Canada and the US as being domestic since the US extends privileges to Canadians travelling to the US.
Side note, there are also some deals to the west coast ex-Kiwiland:
