I wonder if the OAG used to get typos like the ABC did, and MBJ had been entered instead of MIA.
They may have tried serving MBJ and then found the traffic wasn't there. I do seem to recall that Compania de Aviacion Faucett (CF, a.k.a. Faucett Peru), which was another air carrier based in Peru, attempted to serve Grand Cayman with DC-8 service three days a week back in 1985. I believe the routing was LIM - GCM - MIA.
