For Plats, United says it will give out CPUs
AS EARLY as 72 hours out. Doesn't mean they will. They run CPU sweeps when they want to. The reduction from 5 to 4 might mean a GS, 1K, or another Plat (on higher fare basis, or same fare w/ earlier purchase) has been upgraded. Or the seat was sold. UA has often been delaying CPUs to make seats available for buy-ups.
