For the recordL animals cannot be members of frequent flyer programs.
If you wanted a discount, what I would do is contact the carrier and see if yoru can either:
*Be transported as cargo. (be aware of restictive rules on transport of pets.)
*be brought on as a carry on. (which is what I would recommend.) You would put the cat in the bag under the seat in front of you.
I don't know why the fare is the same as yours. IN the U-S, pets can fly in the plane for 35-75 dollars.
