If only Westpac would offer an Qantas Master Card Plat Card in New Zealand.... then I would fully jump ship, although although my up comming travel is now booked on Qantas. My last NZ J experience on the Tasman was pretty poor value, and the SP earn isn’t great your better off flying LA to SYD if you need an early morning J flight for an third of the price.

What gets me the most is every JQ Domestic flight in New Zealand comes with 400 Qantas Points as standard, even if you only paid $25 your still getting something. The earn rate on NZ domestic is all over the place...

To get an free AKL-WLG (use cheap flights):

JQ = 400points/flight ($25/flight) requires 16 oneway sectors and $400NZD
NZ = 1AP/flight ($52/flight) requires 52 oneway (reward flight at $52) and $2704NZD

While the JQ flights are supper cheap sale fares - they often have fares onsale for this rate.
