Could the speed of processing have to do with the global entry center one is applying at? I used to live in Chicago and back 9 years ago, my initial application was approved overnight. Four years ago, my renewal application was also approved overnight by the Chicago Center. My APEC card was also approved overnight by Chicago overnight.
I just submitted my renewal GE application two days ago. I shall see how long it's going to take this time. It looks that you are based in Chicago. I wonder if Chicago's processing time is now much longer than my past experience.
