Currently sitting in the GVK Lounge in Mumbai waiting for my flight to HKG. Paid PE ticket, used Asia Miles to upgrade BOM-HKG to business. No availability on HKG-SFO, so still PE on that leg.

Upon check-in, received my lounge invite for GVK here in Mumbai, AND a business class lounge in HKG. That is a big surprise.

From everything I’ve read, lounge acess is based on departing fare class, not arriving, correct??

The contract check-in agent here in Mumbai didn’t hit any additional buttons, the system printed everything at once.

I’m obviously very happy about this but also confused as to why I have lounge access in HKG while flying PE to SFO.

Any insights?
