Totally agree. I just did my return yesterday with 1hr 10min stop in CMB and it was too much time.
The screens update to say boarding or closed at times which can be misleading. On my outward journey I panicked thinking I had spent too long in the lounge, and spoke to the security who let me push through only to realise it was unnecessary panic. Just make sure you get your boarding ticket printed on your return. Lucky I saw chapers' note the night before returning as I had already downloaded the mobile boarding passes on my phone and had nothing to check in (odd they issue these if you are required to check in at the counter!).
