They're ripping out J seats from longhaul planes and flying 787s to CUN and ANC, and degrading their domestic experience fleetwide in F/extra legroom/Y. Seems pretty indicative to me of what they think of longhaul flying and where they want to go: cut costs and ram as many passengers in on cheap tickets as they can, because they can't generate premium revenue that supports larger J cabins or anything but a NK/G4 experience in the back of the plane.
It's the same playbook US ran. They got by scraping the bottom of the barrel, AA will too.
