For me the stress is not the cost of the drinks, but the fact that I maybe asked at check-out about consumption and therefore I have to keep track of my consumption (at least for the day of check-out) . I do not want to care about such stuff.
I was thinking along those lines also It's nice not to have the hasel of trying to remember what you did or did not have.
The cost is secondry if I want it I will, even though the prices can often be a bit over the top but the fact there is a credit limit to it I might stop and think about it which is also something I would rather not do.
