Question 2: How about discounts from I may receive as a rental car rewards elite member (eg: discounts from Hertz President's Circle)?
Answer: Being an elite member doesn't really provide any tangible discounts. The rental companies may like you to think that whatever generic discount code they apply to your rental when logged in gives you a great discount, but the reality is that they generally are meh at best. The value to applying your frequent renter number (Hertz Gold, Avis Preferred, National Emerald) is the ability to skip the counter, receive upgrades, earn points toward free rentals, etc. You can read more about
