We went through this already on this thread and you had posts on this topic deleted because they were inaccurate and attacking strawmen. You're not correct on 1 and the regular ticket conditions for 2 make it quite clear that you cancel within 24 hours, because:
- the Cathay ticket rules say you can cancel within 24 hours if you purchase a ticket on the US site
- when you go to purchase a ticket on Cathay's US site, the breadcrumb trail at the top says "United States - English" throughout the search process
- once you start booking a ticket through that process which leaves from Vietnam, the breadcrumb trail disappears, so it's never made clear to the user that they're now booking tickets on the Vietnamese site. The charge is in USD, there's no warning that you're being moved to a different site. Other sites (notably Qantas) quite clearly do this.
