Thank you! Congrats on the Cathay fare, i wish I had seen that! The Hilton Hanoi was very nice, though the rooms a slight bit dated. The staff was very helpful and the location is perfect. You can walk to most of the main attractions in old Hanoi, including the lake and puppet show. I found this part of old Hanoi to be very fun, tons of what you'd expect to see: street vendors and street restaurants, very authentic, immersive Vietnamese culture.
We didn't spend time in Saigon as our schedules didn't permit, and we were originally wanting to see Ha Long bay. I've heard great things about Siagon as well, but I've also heard it was much more crowded and a bit westernized.
