i clearly recall a number of our colleagues here in this thread that sent an email in the last two years, and all, with the exception of one, as i recall were renewed. about half a dozen were renewed after an email.
i think it's worth it, especially with a history of loyalty.
there is no downside, and the management has changed over the last few years from Ruth Negus (now Ruth Dowse, and no longer with IHG) to David Canty.
