I can feel your pain, but I am not sure what Alaska Reservations can do when your company uses a corporate booking agency that goes for the cheapest flight. From discussions here, it sounds like most companies do not go for "basic economy" which would make sense as there is value in having options to change. I agree, if your company is making you take basic economy, I would move to another airline that would suit my needs.
