The problem is, it’s not always apparent that a sit down full service restaurant uses Toast or Square, because the payment processing terminals may not be visible. I just got burned with a fairly high charge at a new restaurant... only noticed when the charge posted that the restaurant uses Square.
Others may be willing to always try to figure out when they go to a restaurant for the first time whether they use Toast or Square and if so, use a backup card, but for me personally, it’s becoming more hassle than it’s worth.
