Tonight's 10pm redeye SFO-EWR UA1796 was originally a 752 per usual. Somewhere between T-24 and T-12 it got swapped for a 739. Oddly, it's still mis-labeled as a 757-200, but the changed seating chart has held (see below). I was in E+, which is bad enough, but can't imagine anyone up front will be amused to find no lie-flats. I fly this route often and have never seen a 739 -- is that something new, or a one-off? I SDC'd to tomorrow morning, but ugh.
They were still asking north of $1400 to upgrade, btw. Insult/injury.
