That's not true. ("Everybody" will never be doing it). Many people can stream video and be fine. That's the whole selling point of satellite internet on planes (https://www.alaskaair.com/content/tr...rtainment/faqs)

Yes. Stream live video and audio using streaming services such as Netflix™, Amazon Prime™ or SpotifyŽ. Note, video streaming quality may be reduced to standard-definition quality.
Compression is very good. Most streaming protocols are very good at varying bandwidth as necessary. They are designed to work well on shared connections (which is pretty much everything) This is how the internet works now (most of the bandwidth used is streaming video)
