P wouldn't have any effect on the passengers ahead of you -- it's for paid tickets, not upgrades. PN would, though -- but even then, sometimes an upgrade bucket can open but the system will fail to clear anyone.

So the instruments carry through right to the gate? The gate standby priority published doesn’t seem to mention RPUs so wasn’t sure if they retained validity right through to the end.
I thought maybe that they were higher than us due to fare class for the gate standby list rather than use of instruments but guess that’s not the case.
