If I go on Expedia and book the same flights with 2 nights in a cheap hostel it's $674. Any risks of not showing up at the hostel? We won't be staying there.
The flight is for a friend and mileage accumulation is not a big concern, price is!

It works just fine to no-show the hotel (or car rental) portion of a roundtrip air+ travel package. I've done this a lot to save money on airfare over many years. It also works well to save money on business/first class airfare.
With some travel agencies selling package deals, you can even put the hotel in the name of someone else other than the person/persons flying on the hotel+air package; but that name selection has generally been done at the time of booking the package.
