I'm not sure what your definition of 'reasonable' is. Check with your parent's travel insurance, it would cover this sort of thing. That said, EVA can get PE to IAH for ~ 1400 per person, it is a good product. You could recover them from there. Maybe you can get it with your transfer points. Hope your parents feel better.
