Maybe next time I should engage the Purser during flight and negotiate a settlement?
That's ridiculous indeed. But I clearly noticed recently a dramatic decrease in the number of miles offered for compensations of problems. They seem to consider the amount in relationship to what you need to spend to earn that amount of miles as per the new FB rules (based on EUR spent), instead of considering this amount to what it represent in EUR when you want to spend it. So, if I take the example of 10,000 miles for a platinum member, they consider it represents 1,250 EUR (8 miles for 1 EUR spent), while when you want to use those 10,000 miles (this is the only real value), it represents 30 EUR. This is the price they charge for some meals or seats options payable in cash or in miles.
30 EUR is a ridiculous compensation for a broken seat in J on 2 trips.
