were the case, then why wouldn't they just remove the PY perk for SFC while preserving it for Platinum and Diamond members?
I think there are a couple of factors behind the change.
1) The PY cabins are too small, and it was creating too much resentment when premium members couldn't snag upgrades
2) ANA is looking to differentiate its PY in terms of soft product (special menus, etc.), and they want to place a higher value on it to encourage revenue upgrades
That said, I still think they could have handled it differently and offered something in its place to offset this downgrade.
