Fox and Lew have Ansett purchase in sight
Melbourne businessmen Lindsay Fox and Solomon Lew say they expect to finalise their purchase of Ansett within the next few days.
The pair returned to Melbourne this morning from London where they had held talks about Ansett's future with Sir Richard Branson, the owner of discount airline Virgin Blue.
Discussions between the two parties will continue this week, with neither side ruling out the prospects of a merger.
Mr Fox has told Southern Cross Radio his Tesna syndicate is on the verge of securing full ownership of Ansett.
"At the moment we are concentrating very, very heavily on finalising the deal with the administrators," Mr Fox said.
"We should be in a position to close that deal over the next few days."
