HTL 587, an Ascend hotel - San Francisco (CLOSED)

Could have sworn there was already a thread for this property, but didn't find one.

I spent a Saturday night in April (iirc, a 16k award with Daily Getaways points) at HTL 587 and really liked it - a central location, the king room assigned was large, and there's a big fancy self-serve Nespresso machine in the lobby. The Tripadvisor reviews are unfortunately a mixed bag because of the sketchy Tenderloin neighborhood, its people, and noise. Yes, the accordian elevator door is a pain/weird and the hotel entrance is a non-handicapped accessible two steps from the sidewalk without a handrail, despite the hotel claiming to be accessible. If all that doesn't put you off, and the price is right, I recommend it.

Yesterday, I booked a Sunday night and a Friday night to bookend a December trip next month and the rates start at $77 non-refundable king! My bookings are $90 AARP ($104 all-in) for 2 doubles.
