When I moved to Germany I put my UK Plat number as the existing card, but I was later asked over phone whilst the application was in progress if I wanted my BA Amex cancelled upon receipt of my new German Amex, so as far as Amex DE were concerned my BA card was a proper Amex card (which makes sense, as it's managed from the same app and website as my Plat and corp Green cards)
