InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
YES, except room brightness.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Club InterContinental Room, Received Club InterContinental Premier Suite on 3rd Floor of Club Building. Originally hotel assigned Superior Suite (with Club Access) on Main Tower. But I rejected it coz it’s inconvenient to go to Club Lounge from Main Tower.

How are the rooms?
100SQM. 2x 42inches Philips LCD TV, iPod dock, Deep sunken claw foot bathtub.
But windows are very small and only 3 in the room, almost no view. it was very gloomy room.

Video of Club InterContinental Premiere Suite:

How is the exec. lounge?
Very nice atmosphere. But junior staff skills have a problem. They are not proactive.
I think food offerings are a little bit degraded from 2years ago.

How was the mini-bar?
Very limited selections. But standard in China Mainland.
Orange juice, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Tonic Water, Evian, Perrier, Tsingtao Beer, Heineken, Cheap wine(Red and White), Cognac, Scotch, Vodka, Gin. each one bottle.

What was your welcome gift?
Hotel designed magnet, not attractive.

Did you receive fruit in the room?
No. (Staff told me it will be delivered, but...)

What was good?
++++++++++ Beautiful Garden
++ Nice Lounge atmosphere
++ Roosevelt Prime Steakhouse (in Main Building)
+ Location (Very closed to Shanghai’s most popular bar, called Speak Low)

What was bad?
----- Non proactive attitude of Club Lounge junior staff
----- Room was very gloomy

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points?
Yes

Would you return?
Yes
