called in basically said the fee can be charged whenever and is irrelevant of your membership anniversary. Sound very different from all the other chase cards i have ever had.
Maybe they are charging the fee 2 months early to make sure its paid prior to being awarded the free anniversary free night? I dunno. I like the card and its a keeper but this fee timing really threw me off.
