Yeah, as a trained musician, I'm well aware of it, although I still find it sad that one requires a middleman just to get work, hence why I never pursued music as a career actively. Besides, what do you call professional? Most of my peers are professional musicians full time and don't use agents. When one reaches the heights of Horovitz, Lang Lang, Heifitz, etc, agents are hardly surprising.
