i.e. I have 50 nights and earn Platinum. 10 nights rollover as I needed 40.

If I have 30 nights out of the 40 required but get say 40k points to move from Gold to Platinum, do those nights rollover or are they lost at the end of the year?
it is only extra nights over & above the status earned that roll over, whether earned by points or night makes no difference.
