Neither. It just means that there aren’t currently any upgrade seats available. They may open; they may not.


1K GPUs clear into R, regardless of the underlying fare class. If you’re booked on the same reservation, you’ll need R2 before you’ll be able to clear. An M fare is a high fare class, so you should be near the top of the waiting list among people using 1K instruments. However, you’d still be behind anyone using instruments from a Global Services member.
