Just to update:
Two weeks after submitting the e-ticket and boarding passes to the no-reply email (
[email protected]), I received a confirmation from NZ that they had accepted the claim and would forward it to EY. About two weeks after that I got the APD I was due ($18). Better not spend it all at once!
So the system works if you follow the right channels.
