Fairly straightforward. Depends on who issued your ticket, AA or LA? No matter what your LA/JJ segments will accrue EQM/EQD on the "distance" basis. If ticketed by AA your AA flights will accrue EQM/EQD on the AA "fare" basis. If ticketed by LA you might get lucky and have an AA flight credit on the distance method, however, sometimes partner carriers share pricing information with AA so that they will know what you paid in order to use the “fare” method. You can generally tell by pulling up your reservation on AA.com and seeing if it has any pricing information. If not then you should be credited on the distance method.
