I am a bit confused as from the MBTA website it says that cash purchase does not allow for transfers:
"Cash fare payments do not include transfer options to other modes of transit."

However, under Transfers on the website, it states:
"All transfers between subway lines and the Silver Line at rapid transit stations are free."

So if I pay $2.75 in cash to the driver to get on SL2 at the cruise terminal I can continue on the Red Line at South Station without any additional fare?
