Stuff happens when you travel...and this hardly sounds like the “worst flight ever”. If this is the worst adversity he faces, he should consider himself fortunate. And BTW, crews don’t intentionally make passengers uncomfortable, though you seem to imply otherwise. No compensation warranted...you should suck it up and move on, as should he.
