1. Read the thread on Travel Packages.
There is speculation currently whether all unused certificates will be cancelled on 1 August and the points equivalent returned to your account. (which means you'd end up with really cheap miles)
2. You definitely have all year to do 75 nights, with SPG nights added on. Even Lifetime calculations are based on all of 2018.
