Yeah, the trip I did with Qatar was EX Oslo so took a BA return flight from LHR to OSLO. This was took prior to me getting gold, the Qatar flights got me gold. I was under the impression (rightly or wrongly) that once you jumped from one tier to the next that the number of flighs got zero'd out ?

I have just took antother look on the BA web site and there is a section that sttes "Benefits earned - Gold Membership retained" so perhaps you are right. I think I might give BA a call just to be on the safe side as I don't to go through the expense of paying for 4 flights when not needed.
